Step 15: Evaluate Feedback and Reflect

In this step, you will evaluate feedback and self-reflect to improve both your and your students' experience

Review, Reflect, and Do It Again

Review qualitative or quantitative student feedback from any course or program surveys given, paying special attention to any comments on the effectiveness of the ProficiencyBuilder Model (i.e. grading, scoring, individualized student feedback, etc.).

Keep in mind that not unlike other classes, students who are successful in a competency-based class tend to speak highly of it, while the unsuccessful students may blame the assessments, the instructor, or the grading structure.

Reflect on your own experiences with the model. How can you improve the process for students in the future? How can you make it more feasible for you? What worked and what didn't? On what did you or students seem to have the most uncertainty or issues?

Debrief your colleagues and administration on your experience.

Adjust your policies and procedures as needed for future classes.
